Control your iPhone's music without unlocking it

Wednesday, 23rd July 2008

This was a nice little feature that I stumbled upon tonight - apparently you can control your iPhone’s music without having to unlock it:

iPhone

Just double click the home button while on the unlock screen and the three controls that usually pop up when double clicking it when unlocked show up without any swiping needed.

I have no idea if this is super old - but I’ve never seen it before, woho!

Sorry about the horrible photo, It seems like that on 2.0 there’s no way to take a screenshot of the unlock screen. The old command line screenshot tools don’t work on 2.0 and the sleep + home button combo just makes it go back to sleep.

Yes this is pretty old feature - but it’s nice and I use it pretty frequently. You can also use it while you’re inside other apps on the iphone.
